Canyon Exploration

Guide

Canyon Exploration is a short story instance from the Episode 20 main quest. You follow Lehar into the canyon, overhear Bagot and Lasgand plotting, and slip past the guards with the help of a cat. There are no monsters to fight and no item reward: finishing it moves your main quest on to Return to the Ice Castle.

Entering

  • Requirement: you must be on the Canyon Exploration step of the Episode 20 main story. Walk up to /navi icecastle 202/168 and Lehar appears next to you at icecastle 201/171.
  • Party: you must be in a party, and only the party leader can talk to Lehar. The leader picks Prepare Canyon Exploration and then Enter Canyon Exploration.
  • Time limit: the instance lasts 1 hour and closes after 5 minutes with nobody inside.

Warning

Lehar only lets the party leader in, so each character has to run this step as party leader (a party of one works).

Walkthrough

The minimap guide arrow points you to each next stop.

  1. Talk to Lehar at the entrance. She sends you east.
  2. Two Strange Iwin appear as you get close. Talk to the one at 1@20cn1 171/105 to be moved to the second canyon.
  3. Talk to Lehar at 1@20cn2 271/134. You overhear Bagot and Lasgand's conversation. Talk to her again and a cat shows up.
  4. Once the cat has walked over, talk to it. It takes you to the north-west of the canyon.
  5. Talk to Lehar at 1@20cn2 62/258, then to her again at 1@20cn2 64/224 after you have watched the Rgan and the fake Iwin.
  6. You are moved to 1@20cn2 101/95. Talk to the cat at 1@20cn2 107/65. An alarm goes off and the cat runs ahead. Talk to it again at 1@20cn2 96/65 as the Rgan guards arrive.
  7. Head to the south-west corner and talk to Lehar at 1@20cn2 32/22.
  8. Step into the portal at 1@20cn2 33/15. Bagot finds what he was looking for, your quest updates and you are sent back to icecastle.

  • Entry: Once per character. It is part of the story: the entrance only opens while that story step is active, and you can retry until you clear it.
