Episode 20: Immortals

The Rgans hiding place is still sealed, so the search has to go wider: the Ancient Ice Gorge, the Rgans' Sacred Root under the Snake's Nest, and the drift ice of the Ice Sea. A white cat keeps turning up along the way, and Lasgand's plan to become immortal comes to a head in the Separated Sanctuary.

  • Level: Base Level 215 or higher.
  • Starts at: Horr, outside the Ice Castle, /navi icecastle 27/126.
  • Main hub: the Ice Castle (icecastle and its interiors icas_in and icas_in2).

Before you start

  • Episode 19 finished. Every step of the Episode 19 story has to be done.
  • Base Level 215. Horr only gives you the new exploration at level 215 or higher.
  • One run of Horr's hideout search. After Episode 19, talk to Horuru in the dining hall (/navi icas_in 32/184) and agree to help. Then talk to Horr outside (/navi icecastle 27/126). He gives you 10 High-sensitivity Feeler #1000842. Bury them at the 10 Marked places in jor_back2 (222/123, 49/175, 308/99, 113/235, 279/307) and jor_back3 (152/359, 328/277, 128/138, 264/133, 46/324). Each try works about half the time, and Horr hands out spares one at a time. Report back to Horr to finish the run.
  • Rgan Transformation Scrolls. Many NPCs in the Snake's Nest, the Sacred Root and the maze only talk to a Rgan. In human form they send you back to jor_nest 38/263. Bring several Rgan Transformation Scroll #101162. Lunch at /navi jor_back2 250/30 sells them.
  • A party. Canyon Exploration, Drift Ice Zone, Nest of Twigs and Separated Sanctuary need a party. A one-person party works.
  • Free weight. Most reward NPCs check that you can carry 10 to 30 Sacred Cat Whiskers #1001217 first.

At icecastle 27/126 only one NPC is shown. Once you have handed in the hideout search at least once and are Base Level 215, Horr stands there and starts Episode 20. You may need to step off the tile and walk back on after handing in.

Episode Skip NPC

The custom Episode Skip NPC in Prontera (/navi prontera 164/163) can complete Episode 20 for an Episode 20 Clear Ticket #1001214 at Base Level 215. It gives 180 Sacred Cat Whiskers #1001217 and reputation but no EXP. It only accepts characters that used the same NPC to skip Episode 19.

Story path

Chapter 1: The Ancient Ice Gorge

  1. Horr, /navi icecastle 27/126. Once the hideout search is handed in and you are level 215, ask him about the new search destination. Quest: New Explore.
  2. Go to the adventurers' dorm in the castle (/navi icas_in 258/196). Everyone gathers there. Talk to Leon (icas_in 262/202). Quest: Expansion of Exploration Scope.
  3. Travel through jor_back3 → jor_back4 (gate at jor_back3 159/365) → jor_back5 (gate at jor_back4 6/374). Walk to /navi jor_back5 353/73 and talk to Lehar. She takes you into the gorge. Talk to Lehar at /navi jor_safty1 64/328. Quest: Indigenous Peoples of the Ancient Ice Gorge.
  4. Talk to Lehar at /navi jor_safty1 195/327, next to the enchanted devices. Quest: Ancient Ice Gorge Exploration.
  5. Back in jor_back5, walk to /navi jor_back5 353/352 and talk to Miriam. She takes you to the next part of the gorge. Talk to Miriam at /navi jor_safty1 330/327. You are sent back to the Ice Castle. Quest: Evidence and return.
  6. Talk to Leon in the dorm (/navi icas_in 262/202). Quest: Suspicious Sense.

Chapter 2: A spy in the castle

  1. Walk to /navi icas_in 259/216 and talk to Horr (icas_in 259/219). He gives you three places to check, in any order:
    • Barracks (door at icecastle 186/222): Horr at /navi icas_in 113/41. Quest: Barracks Investigation.
    • Inn (door at icecastle 64/225): Charr at /navi icas_in 92/113. Quest: Investigate the Inn.
    • Back Alley at /navi icecastle 209/243. Quest: Exploring Back Alleys.
  2. Report to Horr (/navi icas_in 259/219). The answer you pick doesn't change anything. Quest: The Identity of the Suspicious Device.
  3. Talk to Vellgunde (/navi icas_in 260/205). Quest: Canyon Exploration.
  4. Make a one-person party and talk to Lehar at /navi icecastle 201/171 to create and enter Canyon Exploration. Follow Lehar and the cat through the canyon. At the end you are sent back to icecastle 22/123. Quest: Return to the Ice Castle.
  5. Talk to Miriam in the dorm (/navi icas_in 259/200). Quest: The story of the past.
  6. Talk to Lazy (/navi icas_in 263/200). Quests: The Cold War and the Age of Intelligence and More expert than any Irwin (this opens the dailies Spy search and Intelligence information collection).

Chapter 3: The Sacred Root

  1. In the Snake's Nest, walk to /navi jor_nest 38/268 and talk to Lazy (jor_nest 36/274) three times. You don't need to be transformed yet. Quest: Infiltrate the hideout of the Rgans.
  2. Transform and talk to Horr (/navi jor_nest 40/274). He opens the door to the snake god's root and you are moved to jor_root1.
  3. Talk to the Rgan Shaman right in front of you (/navi jor_root1 32/34). He sees through your disguise and attacks. Hunt: 5 Superior Rgan Warlocks (in jor_root1) and 5 Church Warlocks (in jor_root2; jor_root1 59/295 leads there).
  4. In jor_root2, step on /navi jor_root2 239/243 to reach the group's hiding spot in jor_safty2. Talk to Lazy (/navi jor_safty2 77/362).
  5. Talk to Miriam (/navi jor_safty2 81/359).
  6. Talk to Horr (/navi jor_safty2 81/362). Quest: Sacred and Sacred.
  7. Go to the Sacred Root (gate at jor_root2 25/291) and talk to the Rgan at /navi jor_sanct 162/86 twice. He wants 3 Bamberries.
  8. Dig them up at the red Callout spots around jor_root2, for example /navi jor_root2 43/63, 90/50, 118/104, 143/79 and 234/95. Each dig works about half the time, and a dug spot rests for a minute.
  9. Bring the berries to the Rgan (/navi jor_sanct 162/86).
  10. Talk to the Rgan at /navi jor_sanct 185/128. You receive a Horsepower Recovery Device.
  11. Bring it to the Rgan at /navi jor_sanct 42/105. Quest: Gaining the Trust of Rgans.

Chapter 4: Gaining the Rgans' trust

  1. Finish five small tasks for the Rgans of the Sacred Root, in any order. The chapter moves on once all five are done.

    • But think about it: talk to Gomiagand (/navi jor_sanct 215/84). Answer I think so too, then Tap Gamiravagand's shoulder. Other answers end the talk and you have to start over.
    • You are very angry: talk to Holesybigand (/navi jor_sanct 190/128) and answer I guess, then Pretend to be curious. Then bring him 30 Copo's Head Feathers (from Copo in jor_back5 and Armored Kopo in jor_back6).
    • A Silent Answer: talk to Pamosugand (/navi jor_sanct 257/115), then bring 20 Large Gray Feathers (from Grey Icewind in jor_back5) to Dorily Logand next to him (/navi jor_sanct 258/117).
    • I've come this far: talk to Narsioramigand (/navi jor_sanct 271/156), then find chores at the Puddle (/navi jor_sanct 48/159), the Tower (/navi jor_sanct 95/152), the Dump (/navi jor_safty2 195/355), the Mountain of Junk (/navi jor_safty2 303/349) and the Warehouse (/navi jor_safty2 318/254). You must be transformed.
    • I'm probably a lunch box: talk to Eriligand (/navi jor_sanct 101/138). Don't answer No or I don't think so. Those end the talk.

    Quest when all five are done: Trust in Rgan. 25. Talk to Sarekgand (/navi jor_sanct 157/171). Quest: Where the maze ends. 26. Talk to the Supervisor at the maze entrance (/navi jor_sanct 22/283). Hunt: 2 Jormungandr Guardian-P and 1 Jormungandr Guardian-Y. They live in jor_maze and jor_root1. 27. Report to the Supervisor. 28. In the maze (entrance at jor_sanct 28/291), step on /navi jor_maze 15/47. It moves you to a hidden room. Talk to Miriam (/navi jor_safty2 190/38). 29. Back in the maze, step on /navi jor_maze 17/153 and talk to Lehar in the next hidden room (/navi jor_safty2 310/43). 30. Walk to /navi jor_maze 140/68 and examine the Shaky Wall (jor_maze 140/72). Quest: An Unexpected Reunion. 31. Talk to the Shaky Wall again to create and enter Drift Ice Zone (party leader creates). Follow the white cat. The exit warp takes you to jor_back1 363/222. 32. Talk to Lehar (/navi jor_back1 365/226). Quest: Hideout Infiltration Report.

Chapter 5: Over the ice sea

  1. Talk to Lehar in the Ice Castle (/navi icas_in 226/255). Choice: It's okay, let's go now. moves on right away. Let's rest for a while. means you talk to Leon (/navi icas_in 233/252) and pick Let's go now when you're ready. Quest: Primordial Deep Sea.
  2. Outside, walk to /navi icecastle 146/206 and talk to Cororo (/navi icecastle 141/212). Hunt: 5 Ice Gangu, and bring 3 Frozen Insect Shell #1000832.
  3. Bring the shells to Cororo. Hunt: 5 Shining Seaweed, and bring 3 Shiny Seaweed Stem #1000831. Both monsters live in jor_tail and jor_back1.
  4. Bring the stems to Cororo. He flies you to jor_safty1. Talk to Cororo there (/navi jor_safty1 195/155). He takes you to the drift ice (jor_twice).
  5. Talk to Cororo at /navi jor_twice 235/111. Quest: What is hidden between the ice.
  6. Walk north past your companions and talk to Leon at /navi jor_twice 238/330.
  7. Talk to Leon at /navi jor_twice 158/243. Quest: Branch's Nest.
  8. With a one-person party, talk to Lehar (/navi jor_twice 164/244) to create and enter Nest of Twigs. At the end you land at jor_safty1 331/150. Quest: Beyond the Iceberg, Beyond the Ice Sea.
  9. Talk to Aurelie (/navi jor_safty1 328/150). She sends you back to the drift ice. Hunt: 5 Church Warlocks (in jor_root2).
  10. Report to Aurelie at /navi jor_twice 161/243. Quest: Deep Rooted Rgan.

Chapter 6: Rumors in the maze

  1. Take the warp at jor_twice 40/52 into the maze, walk to /navi jor_maze 140/74, transform and talk to Lehar (jor_maze 142/70). Quests: Rumors Collection Between Rgan 1/2/3 and The cat at the end of the maze.
  2. Listen to three pairs of Rgans, in any order:
    • Hoton Lokengand or Sohem Garungand at /navi jor_maze 53/238.
    • Naaryugand or Misugozengand at /navi jor_maze 155/243.
    • Hanaungand or Kenguntlgand at /navi jor_maze 282/190.
  3. Talk to Miriam at /navi jor_maze 150/33.
  4. Talk to Miriam at /navi jor_maze 197/34. She leads you to a hidden room in jor_safty2.
  5. Talk to Miriam there (/navi jor_safty2 300/148). After the scene you are sent to jor_back1. Quest: To the Ice Castle.
  6. Talk to Lazy at /navi jor_back1 368/222. The white cat (Nyar) next to him has an optional short talk.
  7. Talk to Leon in the Ice Castle (/navi icas_in 111/228). Quest: Finding Lehar...!

Chapter 7: The Undying

  1. Click the Marker at /navi jor_root1 32/75. It takes you to jor_safty2. Talk to Lehar there (/navi jor_safty2 75/258). Quest: Investigation, Investigation, Investigation.

  2. Follow Lehar's three marks in jor_root1. Click each first mark, then the mark it points to:

    • /navi jor_root1 69/128, then /navi jor_root1 25/145.
    • /navi jor_root1 35/211, then /navi jor_root1 17/194.
    • /navi jor_root1 254/66, then /navi jor_root1 278/74.

    Quest: It's bullshit. What's the next place? 52. Transform and click the Mark at /navi jor_sanct 133/86. You receive a Rgan Transformation Scroll #101162. Quest: Sacred Root Trend Investigation. 53. Talk to the Bishop at /navi jor_sanct 150/207. You are moved to jor_twig. Quest: Call of Nyar. 54. Talk to the White Cat at /navi jor_twig 187/198. 55. Talk to the White Cat at /navi jor_twig 180/123. 56. Talk to the White Cat at /navi jor_twig 142/153. 57. Talk to Leon (/navi jor_twig 138/157). Quest: Separate Sanctuary. 58. Talk to Aurelie (/navi jor_twig 138/152) to create and enter Separated Sanctuary (a party is required). Defeat Lasgand and talk to Aurelie inside. You receive the Corrupted Heart Fragment of Ymir. Quest: The Immortal. 59. Talk to Aurelie at jor_twig 138/152 again. She sends you to the Ice Castle. 60. The door at /navi icecastle 157/206 is now open. Go in and talk to Voglinde (/navi icas_in2 253/118). She takes the heart fragment. Episode 20 is complete.

  • After step 21: side quest B, which leads to the daily Taste of hobby (Nadyagand, icas_in2 30/121).
  • After step 24: the Sacred Root dailies from Pamosugand and Narsioramigand.
  • After step 33: the daily Where the maze ends from the Supervisor (jor_sanct 22/283).
  • After step 40: the daily Collect soft delicacies from Toryoryo (icas_in 243/66).
  • After step 60: Immortal at the Branches of the World Tree (/navi jor_twig 114/147), repeat runs of Separated Sanctuary through the White Cat (/navi jor_twig 142/153), and the dailies Uprooting Rgan (Cororo, jor_twice 235/111), Voglinde's Extermination Operation 1 and 2 (Voglinde, icas_in2 253/118) and Iwin's Iwin Worries.

After the story

  • Side quest A starts with the Iwin Courier at /navi icecastle 109/241. You need Base Level 215 and Episode 19 complete, but not this story. It leads to Sticky Sea and opens more dailies (Escargot!, Dangerous!, I hope they reconcile).
  • Side quest B starts with the Iwin Soldier at /navi icecastle 46/164 once you have finished step 21.
  • Hideout search: Horr's feeler daily from Episode 19 ends when you start Episode 20.
