Episode 15.2: Memory Records

With access to the closed areas of Phantasmagorika, the Atnad Excavation Team finds Memory Records: recordings left by the people who lived in the ruins. Ian Atnad and his daughter Arquien work through them together, until Rekenber's own Chief Secretary arrives asking that their contents be kept quiet. The episode ends with a meeting at Rekenber Corporation Headquarters in Lighthalzen.

  • Level: Base Level 140 or higher (it continues straight on from Episode 15.1).
  • Starts at: Phantasmagorika, verus03, the moment you finish Episode 15.1.

Before you start

  • Finish Episode 15.1, through the Access Permitted / Explore Research facilities quest from Ian Atnad. That permit is what lets the Access Controllers on verus03 let you through to verus01 and verus02.
  • Keep some bag space free. The record NPCs refuse to talk to you if your bag is too full.
  • Plan for several days of real time. One step needs several Memory Record plays, and each kind of play can only be done once a day (the cooldown resets at 04:00 server time).

Story path

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Piece

  1. Go to the Research facilities: take the north-east exit of verus03 at /navi verus03 169/259 into verus02. Search a pile of Strewn paper (for example /navi verus02 60/30, 178/32, 102/135, 155/64) and choose "Check adequately." You find a The Memory Recorder #6757. Quest log: Mysterious Piece.
  2. Show it to Ian Atnad, /navi verus04 144/193. Keep the Memory Record. Quest log: Record Player.
  3. Go back to the Eden Group and talk to Commander Arquien (Nile), /navi moc_para01 133/170, twice, with the Memory Record in your bag. Quest log: Piece of Memory Record.
  4. Collect 5 Memory Records from the Strewn paper piles in verus02. Each pile gives one, then disappears for a minute.
  5. Commander Arquien has moved to the excavation camp, /navi verus04 172/149. Give her the 5 Memory Records. Quest log: Play Memory Record.
  6. Click the Record player next to her, /navi verus04 170/150, and listen.
  7. Commander Arquien. Choose "What just happened..". You receive 750,000 Base / 500,000 Job EXP. Quest log: Report Memory Record.

Chapter 2: The Laboratories

  1. Ian Atnad, /navi verus04 144/193. Quest log: Memory Records of the Laboratories.
  2. Go to the laboratories: take the north-west exit of verus03 at /navi verus03 52/254 into verus01, then ask Verity at /navi verus01 123/181 to take you down to the underground bunker ("Yes").
  3. In un_bunker, search the glowing spots (Boxes, Under desks, Machine Remains, Thickets, Organized food trays, Document piles; for example /navi un_bunker 382/335, 87/167, 316/243, 50/292, 245/360) until you have 5 Experimental Dong Memory Record #6824. The exit back to verus01 is at /navi un_bunker 98/85.
  4. Commander Arquien, /navi verus04 172/149. She takes the 5 records.
  5. Play them on the Record player, /navi verus04 170/150. You receive a Record Fragment #22691.
  6. Commander Arquien. Choose "Show piece." You receive 750,000 Base / 500,000 Job EXP. Quest log: Report Memory Record Content. Her Memory Record dailies are now open.

Chapter 3: Rekenber's Visit

  1. Play Memory Records for Arquien. Talk to her and choose "Research facilities Memory Records". Accept, collect 5 Memory Records from the Strewn paper in verus02, hand them in, and play them on the Record player. Each play gives 1,500,000 Base / 1,000,000 Job EXP and starts a daily cooldown that resets at 04:00 server time (One Memory a Day). "Laboratories Memory Records" works the same way, with 5 Laboratory Memory Records from un_bunker, on its own daily cooldown (One Memory a Day 2).
  2. After four Research facilities plays, play one more record of either kind. At the end of that play Arquien notices a visitor at the excavation team's tent.
  3. Ian Atnad, /navi verus04 144/193. Choose "Is there something wrong?" Rekenber's Chief Secretary asks you all to meet at Rekenber Corporation Headquarters.
  4. Go to the Rekenber building in Lighthalzen. The Rekenber Guard at /navi lhz_in01 277/234 lets members of the Atnad team through.
  5. Rekenber Chairman, /navi lhz_in01 270/257. Choose "What did you say?" and "What do you mean family's destruction?"
  6. Ian Atnad (/navi lhz_in01 272/255) or Commander Arquien (/navi lhz_in01 272/251). Choose "Should the table be turned over?"
  7. Chief Secretary Tatio, /navi lhz_in01 267/257. You receive 4,500,000 Base / 3,000,000 Job EXP, and the Phantasmagorika main quest ends.

Only Research facilities plays raise the counter

The visit in step 2 only happens after four Research facilities Memory Record plays. Laboratory plays do not count towards those four. Once you have done four Research plays, the next play of either kind triggers the visit.

Finishing the story opens verus01, verus02 and the underground bunker, plus Arquien's two Memory Record dailies.

After the story

  • Memory Record dailies (Commander Arquien): keep playing Research facilities and Laboratory records for EXP. A Laboratory play also gives you a Record Fragment if you don't already carry one.
  • Bunker memories: the Mysterious Device at /navi un_bunker 103/95 sends you into the bunker's past (un_bk_q) for its daily quests (Help Her, Air Purifier, Grape Harvest, Subdue Hysterical Patients, Daily Necessities Transport).
  • Vestige: the third part of To Phantasmagorika!. It starts with Du at /navi verus01 221/65 and leads Tamarin's party through the bunker to the Last Room instance (Base 150+). After that, Verity at /navi verus01 123/181 can use a Gravity Safety Device #6828 to take you straight to its entrance.
  • Krotzel's Request: Krotzel at /navi verus02 79/31.
  • The Episode 15.1 excavation dailies (Passage Cleaning, Eliminating Risks, Core Collection, New Power Source) stay available.
